ABSTRACT: This study investigates strategies for enhancing vocational education for adult learners, focusing on addressing their unique needs and challenges to improve learning outcomes and career advancement opportunities. The objectives were to (1) identify the specific needs and barriers faced by adult learners in vocational education, (2) evaluate the effectiveness of current programs in meeting these needs, and (3) propose strategies to improve vocational education for adult learners. A survey design was employed to gather data from adult learners, educators, and program administrators to gain comprehensive insights into the adult learning experience. The sample size included 250 participants, selected through a purposive sampling technique to ensure a diverse representation of adult learners with different backgrounds and experiences. The case study focused on Edo State, Nigeria, known for its active adult education initiatives. Findings revealed that adult learners faced barriers such as time constraints, financial limitations, and balancing work and study commitments. Current programs were effective in providing flexible learning options but lacked sufficient support services. Recommendations included developing more flexible learning schedules, offering financial assistance and scholarships, and providing comprehensive support services such as career counseling and childcare to help adult learners succeed in their vocational education endeavors.
